Amico Passamonti

Amico Passamonti was born in Arsoli. In the early 1510s he started to serve as a mercenary, then joined the military campaign of Giovanni de’ Medici, fighting on his side during the battle of Governolo (25 November 1526). Enlisted by the Florentine Republic in 1529, Passamonti mostly served among the ranks of the troops led by Francesco Ferrucci. He was made prisoner by Marzio Colonna in Gavinana (3 August 1530), and sentenced to death for having killed, two years earlier the latter's cousin Scipione Colonna.
