Ferrucci’s weapons

Ferrucci’s weapons

The heraldic emblem of the Ferrucci family – attested in Florence since the early thirteenth century – is described as “sky blue, with three gold double-crenelated stripes”.

In the language of heraldry, sky blue as a colour is associated with military enterprises but also with the highest virtues – given its association with the sky – especially with those of a spiritual nature, such as devotion, loyalty and justice, strength and perserverance. Gold, on the other hand, symbolises loyalty, justice and nobility, while banding is an extremely frequent element in the crests of the Guelfi.
