La Verginina di Mezzo - GAVINANA (PT)

During the battles in the Vecchieto forest the Prince d’Orange was killed. His body, deprived of weapons, was picked up by one of his most loyal men, captain Dinteville, who temporarily transferred it inside this devotional chapel, presumably dating to the late fourteenth century. A plaque was placed on the inner wall of the small building to commemorate the event.
